This Zone is
based on St Cuthbert’s and
Haydock High Schools.
The linked primary schools
are:

Allanson, St, Ashurst,
Broad Oak, Holy Cross,
Holy Spirit, St Anne’s
St Theresa’s.

Objectives of Action Zones
Magnifying Glass
The aim of the Zones is to
combat issues of deprivation
and provide greater equality
of opportunities for the
communities they serve.

In doing so, they intend to
be a positive force for the
better. There is close
collaboration both between
the partner schools and also
between the two Zones.

Both Zones have identified
similar key priorities for
action.
ACE Zone - Aims

1. To improve literacy,
numeracy & ICT and
create equal opportunities
for pupils to learn
independently.

2. To develop a culture
of achievement where
education is highly
valued by pupils, parents
and the wider community.

Impact Zone - Aims

1. Improve key skill
levels, particularly in
literacy, numeracy & ICT.

2. Develop continuity of
learning experience &
support transition stages.

3. Stimulate community
and parental support for
education. To increase
aspirations & importance
placed on learning.
